Do I need a guide to hike in Torres del Paine?

The W Trek is normally open from October to April. As long as the trail is open and no additional restrictions are in place, you can hike it without a guide.

Outside these months, the W Trek may still be accessible, but only with a certified guide.

The O Trek is normally open from November to March. If it is open, you do not usually need a guide. Outside this period, the O Trek is closed and cannot be completed, even with a guide.

Keep in mind that CONAF may introduce temporary guide requirements at any time due to weather, snow, trail conditions, or safety concerns. These restrictions may apply only to a specific section of the trail, or, especially at the beginning and end of the season, to the entire trek.
