What can I do if my preferred campsite or date is sold out?

Try searching nearby dates or, for the W Trek, hiking in the opposite direction. If you have selected an accommodation filter, remove it to see all available camping and refugio options.

A refugio-only itinerary is often difficult to secure, and some locations do not offer indoor accommodation at all. Being open to combining refugio beds with camping, including equipped camping options where available, can significantly improve your chances of finding a workable itinerary.

Depending on the route, it may also be possible to stay two nights at another campsite and complete part of the trek as a day hike. This only works when the hiking distances and trail opening hours make the itinerary realistic.
