Torres del Paine Cancellation (2024/25) - What to do if I have to cancel?

The cancellation policy is governed by the policies of Vértice Patagonia and Las Torres (agencies maintaining the Refugios). Here are the current terms and conditions of both - focus on cancellation clauses:

Cancellation more than 90 days before check-in

If you have to cancel, change the number of passengers or modify your trip in way that results in a lower total more than 90 days before your trip you can do that with no extra penalty*. Remember if you have booked through torreshike.com you will have to let us know at least 2 working days before the deadline so we have the chance to pass up the cancellation request to the agencies.

If you booked with torreshike.com you might've noticed that apart from the base total there's also Booking fee and Payment fee. Booking fee is the amount that we take for facilitating the reservation and helping you with subsequent modifications or refunds. It's what keeps this website running and pays our staff and therefore is not refundable. Payment fee is what we pay our payment provider (e.g. PayPal, Stripe or Wise) for accepting your payment online. This might be refundable depending on the conditions of these payment providers.

  • If you have booked entrance tickets as well please note that the tickets are not refundable. However, CONAF (park administration) will allow changing the entrance date once for the duration of one year. Read more about it in CONAF Return Policy

Cancellation within the 90 days period

Las Torres and Vertice has different cancellation policy:

Las Torres

If you decide to cancel after the deadline mentioned above you will NOT receive a full refund. The refunds follow this structure:

89 to 70 days before arrival 80% Refund
69 to 45 days before arrival 50% Refund
44 or less days before arrival No Refund

Vertice

Vertice Patagonia has slightly different cancellation policy. You will be able to cancel and get a full refund up to 45 days before check-in. After the 45 days you will not receive any refund.

Modifications

If you want to change your existing reservation, such as moving it to a different date, removing people or entire days from your itinerary the same rules and deadlines apply as they do for cancellations.

However, you can still make changes that increase the total cost of your reservation. For example, after the deadline, you can upgrade your accommodation (like switching from camping to a refugio), or add extras such as meals or camping gear. You can also add more people to your reservation (subject to availability).

How can I cancel?

If you booked through TorresHike.com just go to https://torreshike.com/en/my-reservation and enter your details. Then you will have option to "Modify or cancel my booking". You can also email us at info@torreshike.com with your reservation number and we will forward your request to the agencies and later refund your money if you are eligible. Please make sure you email us at least 2 working days before the cancellation deadline to give us some time to process your request.

If you haven't booked with us or want to handle the cancellation yourself you can also email to agencies at ventas@vertice.travel and online@lastorres.com directly. Make sure to include the reservation number from your voucher to each email. In case you booked with us, send us also an email to us to let us know we should forward the money back to you once they are refunded.
